Change

If you believe that people hate change and that it is your job to change them, they will hate it. If you believe that people thrive on change and that your job is to unleash it, you will tap into a limitless source of ingenuity, energy and drive that will allow you to take your big ideas into big results.

Michael T. Kanazawa

What do you think about this statement? Is this a proper description of how people see change?

It depends on the context. If you’re talking about business, sure. If you’re talking about evangelism, not so much. I think it concentrates too much on post- post-modern marketing principles.

    Todd,
Could you elaborate on how you don’t see this relating to evangelism?
I actually see it as true for evangelism, too. If I approach someone with, ‘I know you don’t want to be a Christian, but you should be, and here’s why….’
    Wouldn’t they be turned off?
But if you approach them with, ‘Hey, I know your life really sucks right now. I was there once, too. You want to hear about what I did to get back on track?’
Isn’t that tapping into their thrive to change for the better?

I’m interested on what your angle here is.

    Nathan!

Ah, I see what you mean. I was thinking more along the lines of mega-churches doing marketing, such as billboards, etc. rather than personal evangelism.

I should have specified! For personal evangelism, it’s a lot more relevant.
