Today I Maed Some Tyops
Posted by nathan on 24 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: my life., thoughts on life.
Today I’ve almost made some pretty major typos.
I nearly submitted a support request to a company containing the word ‘shifted’, but accidentally left the ‘f’ out of that word. Luckily I caught that one!
Then just a few moments ago, I was in Photoshop working on this weekend’s notes, and I don’t often make mistakes. But this time I decided to double-check my work, just in case.
I found an error! What the heck? I spelled ‘Outisde’.
At that point, I almost stopped proofing, but decided to continue. What? I found another–’Relationhsips’!
Man…I’m slipping.
Yikes!
Have you found it true that when we think we’re doing okay, thast wehn we messs up?

Have you ever seen this:
The Paomnnehal Pweor of the Hmuan Mnid
Aoccdring to a rscheearch at Cmagridge Uinervtisy , it deosn’t
mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny
iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and the lsat ltteer be in the
rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed
it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not
raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.
I showed this to my daughter when she was in 8th grade or so; she had had a hard time reading at that time. I figured she would impatiently toss it back to me saying “This is stupid!”, but instead she read the whole thing and said, “So? What’s the point?” I pointed out that the words were all misspelled; she hadn’t even noticed! Now that’s wild.

Yeah somehow we unconsciously do that. Well expect the unexpected. The accident of shift without f would be more than funny to a company though. Lucky you found it
