Smokey Mountain Vacation Photographs, Part 2
Posted by nathan on 24 Oct 2007 | Tagged as: my life.
Below are several photos from our vacation–note there are two pages of photographs, there is a page 2 link at the bottom of the photos.
On Tuesday we went to Dollywood. In one of the photographs, you can see a roller coaster from off the side of our balcony.
On Wednesday, we drove through the Smokey Mountain National Park (an hour drive), and that is where the landscape photos were taken. We also went to a Cherokee village. You can see a photo of a Cherokee with a blow dart gun.
Thursday we went to Gatlinburg, and to the Aquarium of the Smokies. They have a pretty cool underwater tunnel, where you stand on a track and are underneath all kinds of large fish. Pretty cool.
Hope you enjoy the photos!

Nate,
I’m glad you guys had a good time! That is just beautiful country down in TN. Josh & Jenny are so lucky to live there. And, great pictures!
We visited Cherokee village last March. You first think the native american days were so long ago, but when you think about it, the 1800’s were only a 100-150 years ago, those dances would only be passed down a couple of generations. Maybe they still dance by the fire, just to pass on their heritage to their kids.
We’ve never been to Dollywood, though. We’ll have to add that to our agenda next time. We usually make a 3 day weekend of it, drive down and shop Pigeon Forge that night, Gatlinburg the next day, last time we squeezed Cherokee in in the afternoon, ending with the outlet malls until they close. Then the next morning we hit the Great Smokies Flea Market on our way home. (This is where we picked up our one chihuahua, Louie, this year. Turned out to be a pretty good dog!) It’s a great mini-vacation and a nice warm break from the Indiana weather! But way way too much to do in one weekend!
