Sitting on the Balcony, Looking at the Smokey Mountains

We do not have wifi access as I assumed we would, so I haven’t been able to photoblog as I had wanted over our vacation. As I am posting this now, I am sitting on the balcony enjoying the beautiful views of the Smokey Mountains.
Yesterday we drove through the mountains, and I just kept thinking to myself how much fun it would be to take off on a hike and just walk for days–I mean, carry everything, including food, clothes, water, toilet paper…I’m talking true pioneering hiking.
I thought about who might go on such a hike with me–100 miles in four days–carrying literally everything we need.
So my question today is, who would go on this four-day survival hike with me? NOTE: no slow pokes–25 miles a day!

I’ll go, if you think you can keep up! I’ll even teach you how to build a shelter, and how to make fire with sticks!

I would go, but I wouldn’t have room for my makeup and blowdryer and hair spray and TV and bug spray and mosquito net and change of shoes in case my shoes get wet, and my cell phone charger, and changes of clothes because I can’t be seen in the same shirt 2 days in a row! Do they have mirrors in the Smokies?
Make sure you guys shop in Gatlinburg. That is a good time! Hope you have nice weather down there! We’ve been going during spring break the last couple of years. Much warmer down there.

I will go. I hiked about an average of thirty miles a day on the Appalachian Trail… and I could go for a vacation? When?

Michael,
I’m looking at next Spring, late spring, probably.
I’ll be in touch in a few months, as I plan some more of this manly adventure.
