Site Theme Updates

Last night (whilst I was waiting for the host to fix the hacking which had occurred on a sidejob–different physical server), I decided it was time to do a few updates to my site design to take into full advantage of the new features in WordPress 2.3, including tagging.
It’s still very much a work in progress. As I learned in my schooling, the best way to be a programmer is to be a lazy programmer, i.e., do it the easiest and simplest way possible. Don’t code anything twice.
- Anyway, since I’ve been trained to be lazy, I’ve gone to a default sidebar, which has some new features, including a tag cloud which I had mentioned a few weeks ago. The tag cloud has only been collecting tags for about a week or so, so it is still developing and should be changing considerably the next few weeks.
- You can also notice at the bottom of a post, a new ‘Tagged as: ‘ line, this is the new tags, which show up in the tag cloud in the sidebar.
- There are now count quantities in my monthly archive list and categories list.
- Perhaps most obvious, I removed the photo in my site header, because I have wanted to replace that photo for several months, now that I no longer wear glasses, and this will make me put a new, glasses-less photo up…
Cool! Enjoy! If you’re reading this via RSS, please take a moment and drop by. Visually there haven’t been many changes, but the tweaks the site is undergoing is exciting to me. Taking advantage of new features is always cool!
