This Labor Day weekend, Emily and I planted some mums in our front landscaping, to temporarily (until next spring) replace the large, obnoxious shrubs I dug out last weekend. We planted four yellow mums, and they add a nice little pop to the front now.
It is so much better than the huge shrubs which were there last week, and also better than the barren spots we had for a week.
We spent Sunday with my parents and my aunt and uncle from Oregon, Jan and Hal. After lunch we went to downtown Auburn and walked around the square, looking at crafts. Crafty stuff is certainly not our style, so we didn’t look seriously at anything.
Monday we went to the beach and laid out for about 90 minutes in the morning, and then met her parents and sister for a picnic and enjoyed the afternoon together. I played frisbee with my father-in-law while the women went for a walk with 16-month old Noble. Later, Emily and I went to Prime Outlets, and I got a new pair of flip-flops to replace my five-year old flip flops, which the thong (is that what it’s called?) had gone to threads. It was literally holding on by a couple threads…Those were good flip flops to me…i will miss them…
