vision definitely leaks. as a creative director in an "emergent" church, i am responsible for casting a vision of where we are going creatively, to give the fresh stuff, to "sing a new song". but amidst that, we constantly have to renew the vision that we are creating an environment for people to come connect with God.

even though it is a great vision, it does leak. which sucks, but that is us being human. we need the constant reminder of why we do things.

Is this being posted again for several reasons?

1 - Your vision is leaking.
2 - Our personal vision is leaking.
or
3 - The Church's vision has leaked.

I have been through each time you mention - buying into a vision, losing the vision, getting it back, getting new vision. (How many times can I mention vision?)

Vision in any format will fade, but it can be renewed. My similar one is about the Holy Spirit - we need to be filled because we leak. Jars of clay, as referenced in the Bible, have a certain amount of porosity which in english means they leak slowly. It needs to be refilled.

I should have done a blog about this :-)
