My understanding is that he is pro-life (he is an OB/GYN who has delivered thousands of babies). In addition, I think he believes it is not a matter for the federal government. Instead it should be handled by the states. In my mind that means he is a good solid choice for a pro-life vote, but he is also a solid choice for a pro-choice vote. It is a very sensitive issue.
