Is open source innovative?

In a recent blog, James Governor asks the question: Is WordPress the most Innovative Open Source platform?
i was taken by one comment:
I would argue innovation is often a matter of packaging
What do you think about that statement?

I agree. As long as that statement doesn’t become absolute. Often is a good word.
This is ESPECIALLY true in the church. Any church that considers themselves “innovative” MUST be changing the packaging only. Innovative churches take the foundational truths of the Gospel and change the PACKAGING – changing anything else would be wrong.
