unintended results: smelling like a girl.

Have you ever noticed sometimes when you do what you are supposed to do, there are unintended results?

Like today, I have been drinking a load of water–i’m talking like about a half gallon already. Dr. Tyler Chalfant tells me I should be drinking a lot more. ‘Have your body weight in ounces every day’ (that means, if I weigh (for the sake of discussion) 200 lbs., i should drink 100 oz. of water per day)
Now, this is really great for your body. Water intake is important to our body…but boy, it makes me have to go potty like 20 times a day.
And after going to the bathroom, I’m supposed to wash my hands and get rid of any germs, right? So i wash my hands like 20 times a day.
So, now that i have been washing my hands all the time, my hands are really dry.
And i don’t like dry hands.
So i have to use lotion.
Now I smell like a girl.

So, why is it that sometimes when we do what is good for us, there are other, not so good moments?
I think this is kinda like our relationship with God. Sometimes I think if i do this and that, everything will be okay. But in reality, if i do this and that, it changes everything else around me, and sometimes i can still get unintended results. What do you think?
Do you ever experience unintended results?

I’m doing the water thing with you. I did it last spring and I was amazed at how I felt. (Suddenly I feel guilty for the Mt. Dew I keep in my foffice ridge for when I get migraines) I lost weight (probably from walking to the bathroom all the time) and just felt healthier. I was amazed by how much better I felt! If you’re sick of just plain water, you can add some of those Crystal Light flavor packets.

My wife does those sport powder thingies. I love my plain H20.

If you don’t have one, I recommend a PUR faucet filter, and a Nalgene bottle from Moosejaw. Darn near indestructible, and you can drink OJ, rinse it out, put in water, and never taste the OJ.

Yes. I often think I am doing the right thing, but it usually blows up in my face. It usually has to do with when I’m feeling self-righteous.
