eyeglasses no more.

so this past week i had to renew my driver’s license. i was looking forward to it because i knew my eyesight was getting better. i’ve been nearsighted for about 15 years, and have always (except when I’m running) worn glasses since that time. it’s been slowly getting better over the past five years.

four years ago, i got my eyesight checked, and they told me my eyes had gotten slightly better. i didn’t think much of it, and just assumed my old doc wasn’t so hot…then two years ago, i got my sight checked again (and got new glasses, too), and at that point, the doc went on and on about how odd it was for someone my age to have nearsightedness get better.

Well, now, another two years later, Rachel at the IDMV (Indiana Department of Motor Vehicles) asked me to step up to the checker and read row five. as i stuck my face in there, i glanced at row six–i could read it! i was so thrilled! i was almost giddy, perhaps… when they took my photo, they made me take off my glasses since i no longer have a restriction, and it made me smile rather large…

i did also want to mention what it was that made a difference in my eyesight. i believe it was traditional (or wellness) chiropractic care from Dr. Tyler Chalfant at Auburn Chiropractic. a wellness chiropractor believes that by regular maintenance of the spinal chord, it frees up nerves to correctly serve the body. (a symptom chiropractor is a one- or two-visit guy who tries to correct symptoms–which medical studies actually show is very bad for you!) So I’m very thankful to Dr. Chalfant…my vision correcter… Dr. Chalfant is very personable, and loves to teach!

And, of course, you had to give a plug for the chiropractors of the world! Maybe someday I’ll take your (and Adam’s!) advice!

Kudos on the chiro-plug. I only get sick when I haven’t been to the chiropractor in a while.

Happy Birthday, Nate-the-Great. I can’t wait to get whomped in AOE III….

I am a FIRM believer in Chiro, Acupressure, Shiatsu, using foods to stay healthy instead of a pill, etc. A really neat guy is Dr. Andrew Weil. Do a google on him. He’s an MD that does holistic wellness therapy.
